Alex Hoo Chek Kuan
A man of extensive experience in Operations Management, Alex Hoo, is a self-made hard working individual. Growing up in the suburb of Kuala Lumpur, he learned the ropes of the need for good operation systems from the real industry’s needs since he graduated from college.
A truly Asian, he’s brought up through a family with good values of a harmonious society, he understood the values of establishing a good human relationship in business besides the need of systems and technology. Alex started his career with a European company to open its market expansion in Malaysia back in the early ’80s. Having successfully done that, he started his humble business providing lighting designs expertise and implementation of operational lighting systems from residential needs to the office and corporate companies. Among the iconic projects, he’s led are the award-winning Serai BRDB show unit; Eastin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur; National Textile Museum, Kuala Lumpur; Prince Court Hospital, Kuala Lumpur; Petronas Gallery, KLCC; Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur; University Teknologi Petronas, Perak; National Fine Art Museum, Hanoi, Vietnam; The Sheraton Xian, China; Vivanta by Taj, Bentota, Sri Lanka to name a few.
He has appointed the Vice President taking charge of operations since it’s inception in 2015, and since then he has been entrusted to oversee the operations of AIMSMET in China and Saudi Arabia. In keeping with the aspirations of Lifelong Learning, Alex Hoo has attended various training locally and abroad to update his skills in operation management, including his exposure at Harris Manchester College, the University of Oxford studying an International Executive MBA.
Indeed an ambitious yet humble man, Alex is no stranger to the local industry players in Malaysia as having the capability to complete his tasks with pride and professionalism in building greatness in operation management for various industries.
